ICARIO Vitaroccia - 2018
The Vitaroccia Riserva is a cornerstone of Icario’s winemaking tradition, a wine that has been with us from the very beginning and embodies the history of our commitment to quality. It is a refined blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, designed to age for 20 years or more, gaining even greater depth with each passing year. It is distinguished by its grace and sophistication, a wine that carries its elegance with timeless ease.
Product description
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand toward the end of September, after which fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 25–28 °C for at least 25–28 days. The wine is then racked, and the temperature is lowered to 18–20 °C to allow for malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place in French oak barrels (225-liter barriques and 500-liter tonneaux). After 24 months, the wine is bottled and ages for another 12 months before being released to the market.

An intense ruby red color, almost impenetrable, with subtle garnet hues. The nose offers an intense and complex bouquet characterized by red berries, violets, and exotic spices against a backdrop of undergrowth and precious woods. On the palate, it is enveloping, with great structure and elegance; its tannins make it exceptionally well-suited for very long aging.
