Innovation award for cross-manufacturer battery system

CAS won the EISEN Innovation Award Special Jury Prize

The EISEN Innovation Award jury panel has awarded it's prestigious Special Innovation Award to the cross-manufacturer battery system Cordless Alliance System, or CAS for short. The jury awarded CAS for their innovation; a battery interface which operates tools across multiple brands, praising it for being highly customer-oriented, economical and sustainable.

The battery system was initiated by Metabo and launched in 2018 with a total of nine manufacturers. Currently, more than 160 tools from 17 manufacturers can be operated with one battery. In an interview during the online award ceremony, Metabo managing director Horst W. Garbrecht announced that by the end of 2020 more than 200 tools from 22 manufacturers would be CAS compatible.

The EISEN Innovation Award is the innovation prize of the International Hardware Fair powered by Zentralverband Hartwarenhandel e.V. (ZHH), the German Hardware Trade Association.
