With the acquisition of BAK Technology AG, ROTHENBERGER AG is expanding its attractive brand portfolio in the promising field of plastic welding equipment. The Swiss company BAK Technology AG, based in Kerns, Obwalden, is a proven specialist and one of the leading manufacturers of mobile plastic welding machines, extruders and air heaters. With more than 25 years of experience and an established sales network in more than 50 countries, the company offers optimum solutions for plastics fabrication, pipe construction, roofing, civil engineering, tunnelling, tarpaulins and flooring. The innovative products are designed and manufactured in the 5,000 m² development and production center at the headquarters near Lucerne.
With this acquisition, the ROTHENBERGER Group now comprises nine strong brands: The pipe tool brands ROTHENBERGER, SUPER-EGO and VIRAX, RICO for sewer inspection, RUKO for precision metal cutting, SIEVERT for heating tools, BAK for plastic welding equipment and extruders, KROLL for suction-pressure flushing vehicles and ROTHENBERGER Industrial for the demanding DIY enthusiast.
"Each brand is clearly positioned and serves defined market segments as a specialist. This is the strength of the ROTHENBERGER Group as a whole. With BAK, we have gained a specialist for mobile plastic welding with hot air, a future-oriented technology that will open up further fields of application in the trades," says Dr. Christian Heine, CEO of ROTHENBERGER AG, commenting on the new acquisition.
Bruno Zurmühle, Managing Director and Member of the Board of Directors of BAK Technology AG, adds: "With ROTHENBERGER at our side, we are strengthening the BAK BRAND and also our location in Switzerland. Thanks to this step, we have access to expanded resources and new know-how for further growth. As an independent, attractive brand in a strong network, we have the best prerequisites for the future.”
