Hybrid pressing machine ROMAX NANO: The smallest big revolution

ROTHENBERGER launches powerful ROMAX NANO

Every gram counts! The weight and ergonomics of hand-held tools play a major role in how we work. With the hybrid ROMAX NANO, ROTHENBERGER is now launching the world's smallest and lightest 32 kN press machine which uniquely combines the pressing force levels of the NANO iJAW Technology and Standard 32 kN press force. The new ease of pressing is completed by the combination of the new “eDirectDrive” compact power pack and the weight-reduced and smart NANO iJAW pressing jaws.

The fact that there is often little space available to press a pipe is part of everyday business for SHK professionals. Compared to conventional pressing machines, which in this case only offer a limited solution, the small ROMAX NANO can also be used in difficult positions with large pipe diameters. Thanks to the 2-in-1 press jaw holder of the 32 kN standard press jaws, up to 108 mm metal pipes and 110 mm composite pipes can be processed depending on the system.

In addition to the standard jaws, the smart NANO iJAW, which are optimized in size and weight, can also be used with the 2-in-1 press jaw holder. This gives SHK professionals unprecedented flexibility as well as an energy-saving and ergonomic way of working when pressing. The groundbreaking technology behind ROMAX NANO recognizes the jaw type and automatically adjusts the pressing force. But the ROMAX NANO is not just the right choice when things get tight.

As a compact hybrid machine with two pressing force levels, it replaces two separate devices. The electromechanical drive “eDirectDrive” is the central key to implementing a hybrid press machine with two-stage force specification. A coated precision spindle made of high-strength steel transfers the power of the brushless motor to the jaw holder without loss. The interaction between the brushless motor and the coated high-precision steel spindle results in a compact power package that delivers a previously unattainable power density. The power transmission is low-maintenance compared to conventional hydraulic drives.

Equipped with extensive connectivity functions, the ROMAX NANO also offers installers a connection to the future. The intelligent connectivity concept includes RFID technology, LED HMI, Bluetooth and an app. As soon as the intelligent NANO iJAW pressing jaws are used, the hybrid pressing machine recognizes and documents the contour and diameter with which the pressing was carried out, thus offering the installer a level of traceability that is unique in the market.

Because the machine automatically recognizes the pressing jaw contour and nominal contour width used and continuously adjusts its pressing force accordingly, an optimal number of pressing cycles is achieved with one battery charge. ROTHENBERGER will offer the ROMAX NANO with interfaces for the two largest battery systems AMPShare and CAS.

Press jaws think along: NANO iJAW

The collaboration between ROMAX NANO and the NANO iJAW, which are around 40 % lighter compared to 32kN standard pressing jaws, is unique. Each press jaw communicates reliably and in real time with the press machine via an integrated RFID chip – even under the harsh conditions of a construction site.

NANO iJAW work up to a maximum nominal width of 35 mm (metal) or 40 mm (MLP). Every NANO iJAW is clearly identified in use and the number of pressing processes is saved directly on the jaw, even if it was used on different ROMAX NANO pressing machines. The data can then be read, sent and archived via the ROTHENBERGER app. Using constant data comparison, the app registers the number of pressing cycles and sends early push notifications about due service appointments.

With conventional pressing jaws, the number of pressing cycles and service intervals are not visible to users and pose the risk of leaky pressed fittings and other cases of damage. The NANO iJAW range includes different press jaw sizes. The ROMAX NANO will raise pressing to a much more convenient world-class level.
