Cross-manufacturer battery systems have many advantages for professional users. The companies Bosch, Fein and ROTHENBERGER have founded a new cross-manufacturer battery system: AMPShare. The basis is the proven 18 V battery technology from Bosch. More than 25 leading brands are currently AMPShare partners, with more to follow. The global reach and availability of the new battery platform is already high at the time of foundation. 80 million compatible batteries are currently available on the market. ROTHENBERGER will present its first tools with AMPShare interface at the next international trade fair for HVAC + Water (ISH) 2023 in Frankfurt.
AMPShare–powered by Bosch is the name of the new, cross-manufacturer global battery partnership launched by the founding companies Bosch, Fein and ROTHENBERGER. "Amp" stands for the basic unit of electrical current Ampere, "Share" stands for sharing, which emphasizes the idea of sustainability. The goal is to offer professional users a technologically leading 18 Volt battery system with comprehensive range that is compatible across numerous professional brands, application areas and countries.
The advantages of a battery system with a wide range of major manufacturers of professional power tools are obvious. Cross-manufacturer battery systems provide a cost benefit for users, as fewer batteries and chargers need to be purchased. Futhermore, in day-to-day work, tools and machines with cross-manufacturer battery systems pay off twice over. Work processes are optimized because there is no longer any need to search for the right charger for each tool. Jobs on site can be completed more smoothly, transporting tools and machines becomes easier and storage takes up less space. Now, with AMPShare, professional users have a wide range of applications for tools from different manufacturers with global reach and compatibility with 80 million batteries sold.
At the core of the battery alliance AMPShare are the three companies Bosch, Fein and ROTHENBERGER with their broad fiel of application for professional craftsmen in various trades. Professional users from various industries have been relying on Bosch's 18 V battery technology for years. Today, professionals can already operate more than 200 tools from the brands Bosch, Brennenstuhl, Cox, Fein, Klauke, Ledlenser, Lena Lightning, Ramset, Sonlux and Wagner with one and the same 18 V battery. The idea of providing even more compatibility with additional manufacturers was a logical consequence. The high benefit for users in their daily work, as well as the sustainability aspect, were motivation enough to pursue it further. With the founding of the AMPShare Alliance, the cross-manufacturer battery system grows to more than 25 professional brands. By the end of 2023, more than 300 compatible battery tools will be available on the platform. More manufacturers will follow.
